About Kalle Engström

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Kalle embraced the artistic path at a young age. Picking up the guitar during his early school years later got him into the music industry as a professional songwriter and producer and a career spanning for almost two decades to this day.

He has composed and produced songs for some of the most successful artists in the world, including Celine Dion and K-Pop sensation Girls Generation. He’s also composed songs for Cirque du Soleil’s Broadway show Paramour. Kalle’s latest accomplishment was writing and producing the musical movie Beyond The Velvet Rope together with long time collaborator Andreas Carlsson.

With his background in music and twenty years of experience of that creative processes Kalle Engström recently took the step into the realm of fine arts, where he found yet another powerful expression.

Making art is closely linked to music improvisation I think. One has to let go of the predictable. To trust the process is to let go of logic. It is a vision beyond rational thinking. It’s a rhythm, a movement. At the end of the day, it’s not so much about what’s in front of you but rather what happens inside of you, says Kalle
